A memorable and uplifting evening was enjoyed at Pontefract Masonic Hall to see the Installation of Worshipful Brother Karl Gilbert; the newest (and currently the youngest) Worshipful Master in our Province.
Karl began the evening as Junior Warden. The Brethren were honoured by the presence of the Assistant Provincial Grand Master, W.Bro. G. Gary Parker, looked after by W.Bro. Stuart Prince a Prov. A.G.D.C.
The Installation was conducted in exemplary fashion by Karl’s predecessor, W.Bro. Gary Waddington, who delivered the entire ceremony with confidence and sincerity. Garys performance was incredibly admirable.

A thoroughly enjoyable Festive Board followed, featuring Soup, Lamb Shank with Potatoes and Vegetables and Treacle Sponge and Custard. The meal was accompanied by much singing – including The Master’s Song, wonderfully given by our A.Prov.G.M. – together with plenty of laughter, good humour, and warm companionship. The raffle raised over £100 for the Cleeves and Whitehead Trust, adding further merit to a superb evening.
With the Installation now complete, the new Master faces a busy and promising year ahead, with the Lodge already looking forward to the Advancement of a new Candidate at its next meeting on Thursday 23rd April.
A truly excellent night of Mark Masonry, rich in ceremony, fellowship, and optimism for the year to come.
With thanks to W.Bro. Christian Holmes
