This evening saw The Deputy Provincial Grand Master V. W.Bro. Andrew James Brown, along with Assistant PGM, G.Gary Parker, accompanied by a numerous retinue of over 20 Acting Provincial Grand Officers and members of the West Yorkshire Provincial Grand Stewards Lodge attend Prince Edward Mark Lodge at Blenheim House at Batley for an Escorted Visit.
The main item of business was to Advance Bro. Martin Towell, a member of Trafalgar Craft Lodge, and a member of the Magic Circle. Unfortunately, the Lodge Worshipful Master Alan Pridmore, was absent due to a recent knee operation, and I’m sure we all hope that he has a swift recovery and his back amongst us soon.
As a result W.Bro. Tim Crawshaw took the Chair, for the opening and welcomed the Deputy Provincial Grand Master with all due courtesy. (and a bit of dodgy singing), W.Bro. Richard Walker then took the Chair allowing Tim to act as Senior Deacon, then W.Bro Philip Howell, took the Chair to share the work, allowing Richard to explain the secrets.
It was like Musical Chairs without the music, but all seamlessly choreographed and by dividing the work among very competent ritualists resulted in a very sincere and enjoyable Ceremony, under the watchful eye of the Lodge D.C. Fraser McPherson.
The support that we have been so fortunate to receive from the Acting Provincial Officers and the members of the WY Provincial Grand Stewards Lodge really made for a very special evening for the Lodge and of course the Candidate.
Grateful thanks go to W.Bro. Clive Hawkins the Provincial Grand DC, for overseeing the visit and the Secretariat for making the arrangements.
As if by magic the Candidate Bro. Martin won the raffle with the proceeds going to the jewel in the crown of the Province The Cleeves and Whitehead Trust.
A great night was had with everything that epitomises our wonderful Order.
