Friday 16th October 2026 saw a great turnout to see Bro. Gavin N. Bullough installed in style by W. Bro. Stephen J. Turner. On duty was Assistant Provincial Grand Master V.W. Bro. Philip Oldfield together with an escort of acting officers. Steve tried twice to pass the gavel to both Philip who politely declined and, so he tried again to offer it to the Deputy Provincial Grand Maser V.W. Bro. Andrew J. Brown who was the personal guest of Gavin. No luck again and it was good that luck was against him as he delivered a great performance which was sincere and delivered with a happy smile. Perhaps the happy smile was that after three years he was finally ‘escaping’ the master’s chair. Stephen finished his night in the Lodge with a wonderful grin by proposing two candidates for now W. Bro. Gavin to Advance – an easy start then eh Gavin! 😊.
It really was a super meeting followed by a brilliant Festive Board. What’s not to like about wonderful company and great food. Gavin’s ‘Masonic Dad’ W. Bro. Dennis Habergham paid great tribute to Gavin and mentioned his proposer W. Bro. Adrian Unsworth although no longer with us would have been immensely proud of Gavin becoming Worshipful Master of Lightcliffe.
