What a fantastic and memorable evening at Pontefract Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No. 878, where we had the pleasure of witnessing W.Bro. Ian Robertson installed into the Chair as our new Commander in fine style.

The ceremony was expertly conducted by his nephew, W.Bro. David Whitelaw, who took the Chair of the Lodge in the invitation of the outgoing Commander, W.Bro Marcus Higgins, taking on the role of Installing Commander, making the occasion all the more special.

The event was wonderfully supported by 15 visitors from Lodges from far and wide, and we were honoured by the attendance of so many distinguished visitors, including:
R.W.Bro. Richard B. Puttrell, Past Deputy Provincial Grand Master, representing our Provincial Grand Master.
R.W.Bro. Jim Steggles, Past Provincial Grand Master.
W.Bro. Andrew Brown, Deputy Provincial Grand Master.
W.Bro. John Clough, Past Assistant Provincial Grand Master.

W.Bro. Gary Parker, Assistant Provincial Grand Master, who is also the Lodge Scribe.
Following the ceremony, we enjoyed a fabulous festive board, featuring a magnificent lamb shank followed by delicious apple crumble!

A special mention must also go to W.Bro. Edward Wilkinson, Commander of Carl Whitehead Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No. 110, who kindly provided the port.
There was a real buzz throughout the evening, with wonderful fellowship, great company and plenty of good humour. It was a truly memorable occasion, enjoyed by everyone present, and a fitting celebration for our new Commander.

Congratulations to W.Bro. Ian Robertson on his installation, and sincere thanks to W.Bro. David Whitelaw, all our distinguished visitors and everyone who helped make the evening such a success.
