Tuesday 3rd November 2026 and a brilliant night at Harrogate Masonic Hall. W. Bro. Michael W. Holroyde installed his successor Bro. Stuart Cooper in great style. Michael did a fantastic job despite his own personal and family health issues. They always say if you want a job doing then find a busy man….Well that’s certainly true. Michael has now taken on the job of secretary for Haywra proving his commitment to the Lodge and the order in general. The same can be said for now W. Bro. Stuart Cooper who as well as now being Worshipful Master is also the Lodge Treasurer. Hats off to you both! The ritual was first class with everyone taking part showing effort in making for a good night.
On hand to see it was V.W. Bro. Philip Oldfield Assistant Provincial Grand Master together with a good number of acting officers. Also present was W. Bro. Jim Brown President of the Leeds & District Association of Mark Master Masons.
Both Michael and Stuart made special mention to Brethren who were regular visitors and who had helped with ritual during the last year and will no doubt help again if called upon. Mention was also made to the Mark Lodges in nearby Ripon, Knaresborough and Wetherby who supported Haywra which of course works well as Haywra return that favour. Mark masonry at its best.
A great Festive board with happy chatter and great food. The raffle raised £200 for The Cleeves and Whitehead Trust.
