Tuesday 22nd September 2026 and what a ‘Reponing’ it was. Hoyle Court in Baildon was the host and what a super venue for it. The wonderful main temple being easily able to cope with the sixty plus who attended to see White Rose reborn as a Lodge for Grand Lodge officers.
Current rulers and past rulers present together with distinguished guests and the work began. Plenty of salutations to kick off, luckily the air con kept us a cool as the heat generated from so many salutations was significant.
There was lots of official work to get the Lodge opened again followed by an absolutely fantastic oration from W. Bo. Roger Quick who entertained as he always does. Taking about the numbers 1066, 1067 in particular and 1068. Going on to talk about Kings Cross, Philomena’s, astrology and community. Even mentioning reincarnation which of course he doesn’t believe in – perhaps he said from an experience he had in a previous life!
W. Bro. Paul Leach was then installed in fine style by our Provincial Grand Master R.W. Bro. J. Trevor Bolton. Paul’s Senior Warden was V.W. Bro. Duncan Smith and his Junior Warden W. Bro Stephen (Sam) Carris. The ritual was fantastic as was to be expected by the quality of the Brethren doing the various pieces.
The purpose of the reborn White Rose was to enhance the profile of the Grand Lodge officers and for the Lodge to go out and actively help and support other Lodges within the Province.
A great Festive Board where the buzz was just fantastic. Both Trevor and Paul talked with enthusiasm and excitement about the future of White Rose and how it would be influential in helping the Province to continue to move forward.
There was a big surprise towards the end when the Provincial Grand Master awarded the Distinguished Service Award to W. Bro. David Llewellyn Steel for 42 years of dedicated work for both the Province and White Rose in particular.
The night was finished with a toast from the Provincial Grand Senior Warden W. Bro. Rod Dyer saying very kind and positive words about all involved – well apart from three Brethren who for Legal reasons cannot be mentioned here! 😊. Want to know who? Then best ask ‘Bob On Rod’
To sum up the day it was a day of superb ceremonial, great ritual and just as importantly lots and lots of fun. But, what else would you expect from The Premier Province of West Yorkshire.
