What a treat at Pontefract Mark.

The Deputy Provincial Grand Master W.Bro. Andrew J Brown travelled to Pontefract Mark Lodge this evening to witness what can only be described as an exemplary Advancement Ceremony.

The newly Installed W.M W.Bro Karl Gilbert presided over his first meeting since his Installation where he and his team Advanced Bro. Dr Zacharria Peter Alexander Cotter, of Philanthropic Craft Lodge.

Everyone who took part in the ceremony performed their roles with all the sincerity required but yet was light hearted and friendly all at the same time epitomising everything great about our wonderful Order.

The Deputy Provincial Grand Master thanked the newly appointed Deputy Provincial Grand DC. W.Bro. Ed Wilkinson for looking after him so well, and also thanked and made mention of the 12 Brethren who Escorted him which were made up from newly appointed Acting Provincial Officers with their shiny 2 week old Regalia, and also the Brethren from the West Yorkshire Provincial Grand Stewards Lodge.

It was great to have so much support so early in the year, and especially having all four newly appointed Provincial Grand Steward’s, a real honour for the Deputy PGM.

An excellent festive board took place, always good food and hospitality at Pontefract.

Bro. Alex Levigne announced he would be doing the ‘Giant Walk’, which is a unique 42km full distance charity lowland marathon from Hale on Mersey (Liverpool) to Hale Cheshire, along a beautiful flat waterside route, all in aid of The Cleeves and Whitehead Trust, so please watch for the link to support and sponsor him where possible.

W.Bro. Ian Robertson was still not well enough to attend the meeting following his recent hospital stay but I’m sure we all wish him well for a speedy recovery.

A great night, with great company, well worth a trip to Pontefract, in fact their next meeting in September could be another Advancement.

Keep smiling Brethren and Mark well.
