Tuesday 3rd February 2026 saw over forty gather at Harrogate Masonic Hall to see W.Bro. Michael W. Holroyde and his team Advance in great style Bro. Timothy Peter Walden watched by W.Bro. G. Gary Parker Assistant Provincial Grand Master and a mix of 14 acting Provincial officers and members of The West Yorkshire Provincial Grand Stewards Lodge. Michael said it was a delight to have Gary and his team present with Gary responding it was a delight to be there.
It really was a super ceremony, but questions were asked by the many Brethren present from Knaresborough Castle Lodge of M.M.M. No. 768 as to who performed the best. Was it Haywra or Knaresborough Castle? The best person I guess to answer was Bro. John North who was out visiting having been Advanced only a few weeks ago at Knaresborough again in great style. It’s a brilliant ‘rivalry’ these two wonderful Lodges have which is reflected by the visiting they do to each other’s Lodges.
Tim was welcomed at the Festive board and much made of his commitment and ability. Tim in response said it really had been a great night and was very much looking forward to being an active member at Haywra.
Bro. Andrew Warren of Knaresborough Castle thanked everyone for a brilliant ceremony and a first class Festive board. He did refer to a certain Brother who just might have been heard snoozing at some point upstairs. Was it he asked perhaps the Prov. G.S.W.? Now to be known as Bro. Snoozy! or maybe it was just Andys imagination…. Who knows?!
