Thursday 31st October 2024 and Halloween. A night when ghouls, Ghosts and Spirits are said to roam. Well, the Brethren were certainly in good spirits. Not only was it an Elevation ceremony but, an escorted visit, a visit from Fearnley Lodge of RAM No.58 who were delivering the Traveling Porphyry Stone and, a visit from the Commander of The Carl Whitehead Lodge No.110 in W.Bro. Jim Stanley.
To see this special event where ritual, fun and sincerity were delivered all in one go was the A.Prov.G.M. W.Bro. Andrew J. Brown with an escort of nineteen Provincial officers being carefully looked after by W.Bro. Mark Holland the Prov.G.D.C.
Andrew was warmly greeted by the acting Commander for the night W.Bro. Mark Simmons. Mark offered the gavel in the hope that brotherly love would be shown, and Andy would take it as Mark been asked to stand in at the last moment. Andy took the gavel and said yes, perhaps humility and even pity should be shown…..but no, he had already had a busy week at work and was here to enjoy himself and relax!
The travelling Porphyry stone was presented to Mark with a few nice words from W.Bro. John Madigan who had the support of others from Fearnley RAM. Hopefully the stone will be well looked after until its onward journey to Portal RAM Lodge No.127 in Barnsley on Wednesday 26th February 2025.
The Elevation was first class, and Mark led a super team, everyone taking part did a great job and the Lodge can rightly be very proud of itself. Nathan was certainly elevated in fine style.
