The Lodge was opened in due form by the Worshipful Commander, Worshipful Brother Raymond Hooley, prior to which W.C.Ray reminded all that since our last meeting, W.Bro.Gerald Wilde had sadly passed to the Grand Lodge above and all present stood in memory of departed merit. The major item on the Summons was to Elevate Brother Graham Young, Gothic Lodge No. 1018 for which a Ballot was taken which proved positive.
The Elevation ceremony then took place, undertaken in excellent form by W.C. Ray ably assisted by particularly, the S.W. W.Bro. Charles Lindsay, Junior Warden, Bro. Alan Bartrop and the Senior Deacon, W,Bro. Ian Yates who stood in, W,Bro. Rodney Tolson then standing in as D.C. for W.Bro. Ian. No ritual books evident, very few prompts and a smooth, professional Elevation for which Bro. Graham was truly impressed. I have been a member of the Lodge for twenty three years and have witnessed nothing better in all my time, congratulations to all who took part.
A Grand Lodge Certificate was presented to Brother Nigel Norris by the W.C. W.Bro. Ray followed by the Accounts for the Year ended 31st August having been duly examined been approved by the Brethren The remaining business for the Summons was then duly despatched and the Lodge closed in due form, all adjourned for the Festive Board which did not disappoint.
