There Must Be Something in the Water in Slawit!

A fantastic night at Fearnley Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No.58 on Wednesday 20th August 2025. Fearnley seem to be settling in very nicely in their new home in Slaithwaite.  The night saw four new members elevated and a rejoining member too. Next month will see a further two or three new members joining the crew.  Beat that!

It was a super ceremony, and they overcame any difficulties a quadruple elevation must cause.  Congratulations Fearnley on a well-run and interesting meeting.  Welcome onboard Bros. Will Hoyle, Mark Wood, Graham Robin, David Kendal and, welcome back to our wonderful order Bro. John Todd.  Next month will see them elevate another two or three candidates.

On hand to see the spectacular were W.Bro. Andrew James Brown Dep. Prov.G.M. and W.Bro. G. Gary Parker A.Prov.G.M. Plenty visitors too with Brethren from both the Provinces of Derbyshire and North and East Yorkshire.  Good news travels fast!

Andy spoke of the brave decision made by Fearnley to take ‘The Bull by the Horns’ and move from Halifax to Slaithwaite.  A hard decision no doubt but, one that has certainly paid off.

W.Bro. John Madigan spoke of the quality of ritual and enthusiasm Will, Mark, Graham and David will bring and what a terrific addition they will be to Dartmouth. Will responded for all four confirming their commitment and enthusiasm for masonry and of course the order in general.  However, tongue in cheek he questioned the ritual comment! 😊.

Thank you Fearnley for a great ceremony, a wonderful Festive Board and your company.

Brethren keep your eye out on our Facebook page.  John Madigan I am sure will be letting us know soon of next month’s meeting as it looks like there will be change in the date.
