On a warm summer evening, the south of the Province came alive with Masonic activity as Mark Master Masons from across the region travelled to Tapton Hall on 1st July to attend the annual Combined Lodge Meeting.
This year’s event was particularly special for Bro. Philip Davidson, who was advanced into the Order in a superb ceremony conducted by a team of 19 acting Provincial Officers, including all four Provincial Rulers. The ritual was performed in an excellent manner, ensuring Bro. Davidson received a memorable and fitting introduction to the wonderful Order that so many have come to love.
The meeting was further distinguished by the presence of several eminent Masonic dignitaries, including:
- V.W. Bro. James Newman, Provincial Grand Master of the Craft and M.E. Grand Superintendent for the Province of Yorkshire, West Riding
- W. Bro. Philip Drury, Second Provincial Grand Principal in the Royal Arch
- W.Bro Ian Smith, Inspector General of the Rose Croix for Yorkshire
- W.Bro Algis Vasis, District Grand Principal Conductor of the Work of the Order of Royal and Select Masters for West Yorkshire

Their attendance highlighted the spirit of unity and cooperation among the various Masonic Orders, demonstrating how they work together to support and promote growth within Freemasonry.

At the close of the evening, W. Bro. Philip Drury announced that next year’s Combined Meeting will be hosted by Escafeld Lodge on Wednesday, 8th July, encouraging brethren to mark their diaries for what promises to be another unmissable event.
