Escorted Visit for Dartmouth

A foggy night in Slouwit beset with problems, but they did not detract from a fabulous evening. First W Bro John M Fitzpatrick’s noddy car let him down. Then our ProvGSec had to pull out, coupled with the intrepid duo from Harrogate – W Bro’s Edward Wilkinson and Andrew Johnson sat still on the motorway for several hours behind a serious accident before eventually turning round then headed for home.

While all this was going on Me and the remaining Team of seven Acting Officers got on with our Escorted Visit to Dartmouth Lodge to support Bro Howard Copley’s Advancement, and what a great occasion it was.

Bro Howard was Advanced in style, the WM and his Officers did a fine job and the Festive Board Giant Lamb Chops were great.

The 125 year old Dartmouth Lodge is in fine fettle and will celebrate their birthday later in the year with yet more candidates in the pipeline, so the future is looking secure.

Even though there was a full moon the fog on the way home prevented me from searching out the legendary “Slouwit Mooin Rakers,” I think I’d left them with W Bro John Madigan in the bar!
