Fantastic Support For R.W.Bro. Brian Morris Batty from the Brethren of West Yorkshire

Over thirty Brethren from this Province travelled to 86 St. James’s Street London to see R.W.Bro. Brian Morris Batty, P.Prov.G.M. Installed as the Worshipful Master of Grand Stewards Lodge of Mark Master Masons.  A great honour for Brian who is the sixth member of West Yorkshire to attain this chair.  Brian joined Grand Stewards Lodge in 1987 and, so it has taken a mere thirty-seven years to become Master!

The day started out with the West Yorkshire Brethren joining the train at various points such as Leeds, Wakefield, and Doncaster.  Some Brethren making the journey south from Manchester.  The standard fayre at most seats seemed to be bacon sandwiches, pork pies and gin and tonic all served with a slice of lemon and ice well, at least the gin was!

It was a fantastic ceremony with the Assistant Grand Master R.W.Bro. Denovan Keith Wilson being the installing officer.  Once in the chair Brian being Brian ran a comfortable relaxed Lodge in his usual confident manner, great to see.  West Yorkshire were actively involved in the meeting with V.W.Bro. Robert Corfield addressing the Wardens, V.W.Bro. Dr. Rod Taylor the Overseers, and R.W. Bro. J. Trevor Bolton the Brethren.

The busy and enjoyable Festive board saw fabulous company and wonderful food with many compliments being given to Brian.  James Newman our Provincial Grand Master in the Craft paying great compliment to Brian saying ‘I was very proud that so many from Yorkshire had attended to support Brian, a true gentleman and certainly someone who helped shape my masonic career’.  This certainly shows the high esteem in which Brian is held by all.

A wonderful day.  Many congratulations R.W.Bro. Brian Morris Batty you really have and, continue to Mark Well.
