Installation at Caldene Lodge of Mark Master Masons No.501

Tuesday 1st October 2024 at the Masonic Hall, Bottoms, Todmorden saw Bro. Richard M. Cameron (Cammy) Installed as Worshipful Master.  Some achievement for Cammy as he only joined the order just over two years ago.

On duty for the Province was the Provincial Grand Master R.W.Bro. J. Trevor Bolton, W.Bro. Keith Bradley Elected Representative of the Charity Committee and, W.Bro. Clive Hawkins Prov.Dep.G.D.C.

The Worshipful Master Bro. Martin Grace welcomed Trevor and offered the gavel, no such luck Martin, sorry.  He was a little luckier however as W.Bro. Richard Jessop happily took the Masters chair and conducted a first-class Installation.  It really was a great ceremony and all the Brethren who took part should rightly feel very proud of themselves and Caldene.  A night no doubt Cammy will cherish.  There was also a proposal for a candidate and, if all goes to plan Caldene will have an advancement ceremony to do on Tuesday 5th November, an easy start for you eh Cammy!

Good food and good banter at the Festive board.  Trevor congratulated Cammy on becoming Worshipful Master and commented on the Brethren that were appointed who said such things as thank you or, we will do our best etc.  But he said he had never heard the words thanks chuck or the W.M. being called flower.  A new tradition perhaps at Caldene no doubt set by a certain W.Bro. Rod Dyer whose influence as D.C. was already showing!  Thanks Luv, sorry I mean thank you W.Bro. Rod……..

Cammy thanked Martin for allowing Richard to install him as W.M.  Richard had initiated him into Freemasonry back in 2010 and, he could think of no better person to Install him as W.M.  He also thanked Trevor for attending making it a special evening.  Going on to say he really was enjoying the Mark and, would be carrying on that great tradition of visiting which, Caldene were very good at indeed.

Best wishes to Cammy and all the officers and Brethren of Caldene.  Here’s to a successful future.

Brethren, Mark Well
