Bro. Steven Broadbent became W.Bro. after being installed into the chair of Fearnley on Wednesday 9th April 2025. There was lots of blue and gold about to see it too which included the Prov.G.M. R.W. Bro. J. Trevor Bolton together with Worshipful Masters and Brethren from other Lodges.

The Dep.Prov.G.M. W.Bro. Andrew J. Brown was on duty for the Province and W.Bro. Chris Oldfield the Elected Representative of the Charity Committee.

W.Bro. Mark Kenyon offered the gavel to Andy but was politely refused. Mark then thought to try Trevor but decided against it. Although a little bird told me he MIGHT have been advised earlier not to try. Trevor certainly looked very comfortable on the top row so maybe that was it……

Mark certainly did a super job in putting Steve in the chair despite suffering from double vision which had started earlier that day. But a man and a Mason of his calibre doesn’t need notes any way, eh?

One of Steves final jobs in the meeting was to appoint and Invest several stewards reminding them it was their job when serving on to ensure that he got the biggest portion which got a very quick reply from Bro. Andrew Willand that yes, he certainly would do that but perhaps only after he was given his acting officers collar which seemed to be missing. Quick thinking from Andrew which certainly raised a laugh and a smile.

The Festive board was very busy indeed and the food as always at Fearnley was fantastic certainly no need for bigger portions as there was plenty for all.
Fearnley have had a brilliant year with six new members. Their next meeting is in October so, time for them to get six more eh.
