Tuesday 22nd April 2025 at the Masonic Hall, Cleckheaton where the sun never sets saw The Old York Lodge of M.M.M. T.I. Advance Jason into our order. And what a first-class ceremony it was. The I.P.M. W.Bro. Christian Holmes leading a first-class meeting and ceremony.
There to see it was the Prov.G.M. R.W.Bro. J. Trevor Bolton, R.W.Bro. Alan Oldfield P.Dep.Prov.G.M. with an escort of some members of The West Yorkshire Provincial Grand Stewards Lodge No.2018 under the guidance of W.Bro. Mark Holland Prov. G.D.C.
Most important of course was the candidate Jason, a member of The Lodge of Friendship No.750. He cannot fail to have been impressed by a wonderful ceremony from the self-proclaimed Premier Lodge in the Province. What was impressive was how some important parts of the ritual were delivered by Junior Brethren with not a book in sight. Not only was it the ritual that was impressive but the theatre that went with it.
On to the Festive Board, which was first class and great value at £15, come along and give both the Lodge and the food a try, you won’t be disappointed – I promise!
The S.W. Bro. Alistair McIntyre in his toast to The Prov.G.M. said Jason may have heard the saying Premier Lodge several times during the evening but he would go further and say that under Trevor’s stewardship that West Yorkshire was itself The Premier Province! Brave words indeed.
Trevor congratulated Christian and the Lodge and said he was suitably impressed by the commitment everyone had put into the ceremony. He couldn’t pick out anyone in particular saying ‘you were all brilliant or, as my Prov. S.W. would say it was Bob On!’
Jason thanked all who took part in the ceremony and said he was looking forward to getting involved with the Lodge and that he would certainly do his best.
What a pleasure it was to see Jason become the newest member of Old York and enjoy the company of well over thirty Brethren from around the Province.
