The Travelling Porphyry Stone, a Candidate, a Grand Lodge Certificate and Port!

A busy night for Prince Edward Lodge of RAM No.14 on Monday 19th May 2025.  The Masonic Hall, Willow Royd, Greetland being host to over 40 Royal Ark Mariners.

First, the W.C.N. W.Bro. Garry Milnes welcoming members of The Portal Lodge of RAM No.127 who brought with them the Porphyry stone for safe keeping at Prince Edward until its next onward journey.  Garry and his team then conducted an Elevation ceremony where Bro. Graham Stuart Franklin joined the ever-growing numbers in our order and of course joining Prince Edward who have done well with three candidates in the last twelve months or so.

On hand to see all of this was the Deputy Provincial Grand Master W.Bro. Andrew J. Brown together with a team of acting officers.  Andrew was offered the baton or was it the Sceptre or maybe the gavel?  Perhaps ask a member of Prince Edward!  Andrew took it very briefly before passing it back for Garry to run the next leg of the race.  The Lodge did a fine job in elevating Stuart who cannot fail to have been impressed by the ceremony despite a few unexpected last-minute changes in the team.  Well done to all who took part.

There was also a Grand Lodge Certificate to present to Bro. John K. Robinson which our Dep.Prov.G.M. did in style, once a D.C. always a D.C., eh.

The Festive Board which was fantastic saw W.Bro. Mark Kenyon the W.C.N. of The Carl Whitehead Lodge No.110 pass the Port round with an explanation of why, its significance and the memory it preserved.  Interested? then look out for its next onward journey and see for yourselves.  Mark I am sure wont mind spending a little more on Port than perhaps he had planned for!

Welcome Bro. Graham Stuart Franklin to our fantastic order and best wishes for many years of Friendship within the order and of course Prince Edward.
